Between July 25 and 29, the Confucius Class-
room in Munich, Germany, holds the "2011
Summer Program for Chinese Language and
Culture". At the conclusion of the program, the
students give a performance to demonstrate
their achievement.
This July to August, the Confucius Institute at the
University of Hawaii at Manoa actively helps local
elementary and high schools to set up Chinese
courses. The photo shows a Chinese class of the
Hahaione elementary school.
Institute at the University of New South Wales,
Australia, experience life in West China during
their summer camp. This is a photo taken dur-
ing their “Silk Road” trip.

Eight students from the Confucius Institute at
the University of Abomey- Calavi, in Benin, were
awarded Confucius Institute scholarships and
will soon begin their study in China. The univer-
sity held a farewell party for the 8 students.

On August 23, the Confucius Institute at Kyrgyz
National University holds the rst joint confer-
ence of Confucius Classrooms and Chinese
teaching sites to share experience in Chinese
teaching.
