ABSTRACT:
Contemporary linguistic education is not limited to teaching linguistic knowledge
any more. It focuses more on students’ accumulation of language experience and
development of communicating skills. The classroom education of Chinese as a
Second Language/Foreign Language is shifting its center from language teaching
to activities. However, when activities become the major form of class education,
the e ectiveness of activities (which means learning linguistic knowledge,
accumulating language experience and developing communicating skills
through activities) has attracted increasing attention. This thesis discusses several
approaches to realize linguistic educational goals in a complete and e ective
way through analysis of various class activities. The approaches include: creating
realistic language communication motives by using information gap; increasing
the interest of the class by making use of competitiveness; increasing links in
an activity process and enriching the activity’s content; ascertaining a speci c
task and putting it under e ective control; taking advantage of “repetition”; and
ensuring educational balance through activity programming.
